Announcements

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Today in a week’s time, we will be saying farewell to Term 2. Only one week left before we can all take a well-deserved rest. Please take note of the following:

SCHOOL WHATSAPP CHAT GROUPS (2026):

You can join the school’s various WhatsApp chat groups by clicking on each relevant Grade’s below:

ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR GRADES R, 1 AND GRADE 8, 2027:
Online applications for grade R, 1 and grade 8 for 2027 are still not open. Please take note that grade 7 learners, seeking admission into grade 8 will be prioritised and then grade R and 1 applications will follow. Parents of our own grade R learners, seeking admission for 2026, must please note that their child WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY BE ENROLLED INTO GRADE 1. You have to follow the online procedure as well. Should our grade R parents need any assistance with the process, Ms Thembi Ntombela will be the person at school to assist you.

SCHOOL FEES:
All statements went out recently. Please check your statement for correctness. We have a few payments on our suspense account that we are unable to allocate to the correct account, due to incorrect references. Should your payment not reflect on your statement, kindly send proof of payment to joey@paardies.co.za with your child’s name, surname, and grade.

CHILDREN STAYING AT HOME AT THE END OF A SCHOOL TERM:
It is alarming to see how many children are staying at home after the formal tests at the end of a term. Normal schooling continues after the test series or an exam and all children who are not at school loses out on very valuable teaching.

LATE FETCHING OF CHILDREN:
Daily children stay behind at school until very late. This is a huge concern as many of these children are in the Foundation Phase. Please parents, make sure your children are fetched on time, to prevent further trauma when they are waiting outside the school not knowing if or when they will be fetched.

URGENT NOTICES:
Urgent notices went out this week to parents of children who are not performing academically as expected. Many of these children were not at school to receive such notices and then parents were contacted telephonically to inform them of the following dates where they should come to school to sign the relevant documents:

  • Monday 22 June: Grade 4 and 5 from 12:00 until 13:30 in the school hall
  • Tuesday 23 June: Grade 6 and 7 from 12:00 until 13:30 in the school hall

HANDING OUT OF REPORT CARDS:
This is yet another reminder that Report Cards will be handed out on Wednesday, 24 June at 12:00 to all children whose parents did not receive urgent notices. If you wish to collect the Report Card yourself, please ensure that the Report Cards are collected at the stipulated time, as no Report Cards will be handed out on Thursday and Friday.

OFFICE & CLOTHING STORE HOURS:
  • Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 14:00
  • Friday: 07:30 – 13:00
  • No money can be accepted after these specified times, for safety and security reasons
  • Please remember that there are card facilities available at school. It is a more convenient and a safer way of making payments at school. Please make use of this facility or make payments via the internet or direct bank deposits. The school’s banking details are as follows
  • Laerskool Paardekraal
  • ABSA
  • Current Account no – 01005000153
  • Please use your child’s name, surname and grade as a reference and send Proof of Payment by email to joey@paardies.co.za.
