FARE WELL TO THE RETIREES:
Today was officially the last day at school for Mr Bester, Mrs Van der Merwe, Mrs Galloway and Mrs Goosen. They are now officially on retirement. Allow me to thank the three ladies for their exceptional work done here at Laerskool Paardekraal over the years. You will forever be remembered for your hard work and compassion. Good luck with your future endeavours and please enjoy the peace that comes with retirement. I salute you!
 
CURRICULUM MATTERS:
Some children did exceptionally well during term 1 and I want to congratulate them on their achievement. Sadly, there are also learners who did not meet the minimum requirements and their parents received urgent notices to come to school for the signing of documents. It is not too late to start working harder during term 2. With lots of hard work and perseverance, you can still make a huge difference. Keep on trying.
 
SCHOOL HOLIDAY:
On Friday 21 March there will be no school, as it is Human Rights Day. Normal school will resume on Monday 24 March at 07:20. School breaks up next week on 28 March for a one-week-holiday and there will be NO SCHOOL until 08 April when schools will re-open for the second term. I hope everybody will rest during this period as the second term is a very demanding term for all learners and teachers alike.
 
SCHOOL FEES:
All outstanding school fees accounts without honoured arrangements made, will be handed over for collection. All extra costs for collection, interest, possible court fees and blacklisting, will be for the defaulter’s account. Thank you to all parents whose school fee accounts are up to date. We appreciate your commitment.
 
CONTACT DETAILS:
Please update your contact detail in your child’s diary as well as at school. We had several incidents this week where children were still at school very late and we were unable to contact parents due to incorrect contact details. Please have a system in place where you know when your child did not arrive at home on time. The children who are left at school until very late are traumatised as they do not know when and how they will be getting home. Please parents, we rely strongly on your cooperation to keep our children safe.
 
OFFICE HOURS:
  • Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 14:00
  • Friday: 07:30 – 13:00
  • No money can be accepted after these specified times, for safety and security reasons
  • Please remember that there are card facilities available at school. It is a more convenient and a safer way of making payments at school. Please make use of this facility or make payments via the internet or direct bank deposits. The school’s banking details are as follows
